I will use surveys as a teacher to find out what activities students find the most effective. Surveys are also helpful for receiving feedback from students at the end of the semester or year. Surveys could help me figure out what students want to review, and what material they feel confident about.
Reporting grades into Excel will help me assess students's strengths and weaknesses. Excel also makes grading more time efficient. I plan on teaching high school and college history. I will have a lot of students, therefore surveys and Excel reporting will make it much easier to stay organized.
I really enjoyed reading the first blogs on my classmates's pages. I liked learning about everyone's goals and majors. I also enjoyed learning about people's varying backgrounds in technology. Most of us started out this class with background knowledge from social media and Microsoft. I liked hearing about my classmates's opinions on the new technologies that were introduced in our class. I especially found their opinions on Diigo interesting. I did not like Diigo for the most part, because I found it tedious. However, it was intriguing to learn about why some people liked the tool.
I would like to learn more about YouTube. YouTube could be very effective for posting lectures online in the future. Although I often watch videos on YouTube, I don't know how to edit and post videos. I can achieve this goal through practice and research.
