ILP Design- Edmodo Voice Thread https://new.edmodo.com/home I chose to do Edmodo for my ILP Design project.  Edmodo is an online resource that allows teachers to share content, links, assignments and quizzes with their students.  I acted like an 11th grade A.P. U.S. History teacher for my Edmodo.  I focused on the civil war and created a quiz, poll and I linked videos and websites in the helpful links folder.
I like Diigo because it makes collaborating easier.  The tools were easy to use and they worked well.  I originally didn't like how we had to download an extension in order to use the program.  However, it didn't take long and was easy to figure out. I like blogging and it wasn't too difficult to figure out.  I can definitely see myself continuing to use it when I am a teacher.  It is a good tool for easily communicating information to a larger audience. A web 2.0 tool can be used to reinforce a concept taught in class.  I want to use YouTube when I am a teacher.  Some of my teachers used YouTube in high school and I would watch the videos that we saw in class in order to help me study for exams.  I found YouTube to be really helpful because it allowed me to study just by listening and I could use the app anywhere.  YouTube is really easy to use and it's pretty simple to find videos about any subject or topic.  However, I will make s...

I will be teaching high school or college students so I feel most prepared to teach them speaking and communication skills.  At that point in their education I should not be teaching them to read at their grade level so that standard doesn't really apply to me.  Teaching technology will require more learning on my part because software is constantly updating and advancing.  Therefore, I have to make sure that I personally stay up to date with all the new advancements.  I remember having teachers in school that knew less about technology than their students.  This caused some students to look down up their teachers as a result.  I want to avoid being in that situation. The resource in the CPALMS Educator Toolkit that I found to be the most applicable to my future career is the 51 original Tutorials for Social Studies.  This resource has a lot of links to videos covering different topics in U.S. history.  Each link has multiple videos attached to ...
